One: Neomosaic

Neomosaic begins in chaos. Trusting the spaces to provide the necessary shape forming the desired image, I carefully place colour, dark or light. My husband provided the name. Out of chaos unity develops within diversity. “One” is all about unity. Diversity is essential to the union. So it is with Life.

in all

with all

through all

all in all.

through other.

Other is One.

We live together.

We dance together.

There is no other,

only I AM.

Freedom is connected to “One”

All phenomena pass themselves off as total and final in their independent and free existence. But just wait a while, look deeper, and you will see that all things are parts of much larger ecosystems of connection and life. In their separateness, they will pass. Everything is qualified and provisional and contingent on something else. The illusion of our separateness makes it hard for us to see and seek the common good or to rest in Divine Union.” Richard Rohr “Daily Meditations” August 16, 2018

Everything is linked to “One”

All is one. Physics is bringing us closer to this realization as it discovers quarks and gluons, previously unknown phenomena. Everything is linked and has influence on everything else. We do not live in isolation. No one and no thing lives in isolation. All is one.

God glue

In this series I suggest the glue holding everything together is the Creator of it all. God is not separate either. Instead of a spectator, She resides within Her creation, suffering as we do, laughing and loving along with us.

A selected few

To symbolically represent this indwelling presence, this one, I researched the names of God to place them within the ever-present circles in my work. Having discovered there are over a thousand names for God around the world, I decided to select a few representing the whole. Not every name is named and not every circle is adorned.

Unity is healthy

The illusion of our separateness requires dissolution for us to move forward to a healthier world. Hopefully the beauty in abundant diversity resonates in my work and in the soul of those who connect to it. Beauty is the means by which I choose to bring us all closer together. Unity is the goal, for we are all one.
